The lonely survivor of last week's ginger cake. I've been circling it like a shark making sure it's still there for my afternoon tea lol! The guys in my house love to shave and shave bits off food so they can't be accused of having the doomed Last Slice. This one (just over 1cm wide) was impressive work, I have to admit.

Dragonboat Festival

Making Zhong (glutinous rice dumplings)! The story behind it is, the patriotic minister (and famous poet) Qu Yuan was banished from court by the corrupt council and eventually drowned himself in a river out of despair. People went out in dragonboats to try and save him, and when they were unable to, they threw these dumplings into the water to stop the fish from eating his body.
