Birthdays and haircuts

Summer fruit

My god this apple was big

la la laputa

Ghibli Museum time! Ghibli Museum is fiddly in that it only opens on Saturdays, and you have to book in advance. We cleaned out our local Lawsons ticket machine to get everyone in.

TOKYO DESIGN FESTA

Tokyo Design Festa for independant artists, at Tokyo Big Site (aka the Middle of Nowhere). This comes in handy later when I have to get to Big Site for Comiket heh

An umbrella a day keeps the rain away

Raining in Harajuku! The ugly side of Summer (lol). Behind us is Laforet, the department store for youth fashion, left is family restaurant Jonathons, and on the right is Condomania. So an interesting thing about Japanese...you never see them carrying umbrellas! Umbrellas magically appear when it's raining and then disappear when it stops.

Kamakura

Golden Week(end) part 2! Off to Kamakura with Akemi! Kamakura is at the edge of Tokyo, so all the old shrines/temples are set up around there. Please note the CROWDS lol. If you need lots of personal space, Japan is so not the place to live.

onwards ho

Food post! Junk food around our place - bento from panya and supa, and sweets from Chateraise
